Pamela asked:

If so, how?
If not, why not?

No, I drive to and from work and everywhere else that I HAVE to. We only have one vehicle in our household. Not much more I can do…or afford to do.

i drive a infiniti G35 and does that thing guzzle gas.
i try conserving gas since it only runs on freakin Premium. just drive slower that should save you a little bit of gas and get your routine oil changes and keep your engine clean.

I’m a hypermiler (look it up). I routinely get 45 mpg out of my 98 Honda Civic hatchback, which I mantain myself. I drive very conservatively, using the brake and gas pedal very carefully. I do it to save money and to cause the least damage to the environment. I get constantly passed by others in much less frugal vehicles, only to find them sitting at the next trafficl light. So it really makes no sense to drive fast in city streets.

Yes I do. No jack-rabbit starts or sudden braking. I use the cruise control as often as possible, and try to consolidate driving related errands.

yes i do pam!. we go just when we need to go, like shopping, and we all dr., so we have to go there and the pharmacy to get prescriptions filled, but besides that, we stay at home. cant afford to pleasure ride, like some around here does.

It is a necessity for me to conserve on fuel. My car is my livelyhood.
Keeping your car tuned up, regular maintenance (oil changes, air filter changes, wheel alignments, proper fluid levels.)
    Proper tire inflation.
Don’t drive so fast. I slowed down from 60 to 55, and I have seen a savings in fuel consumption.
    Don’t make unnecessary trips.
